Watering is the most important aspect or germinating a healthy lawn. You should water your newly installed lawn daily to the point of saturation. We recommend running a hose and sprinkler instead of hand watering to ensure proper coverage. After the lawn is installed, avoid walking directly on it for 2-3 weeks. Do not use fertilizer or herbicides on hydroseeded areas for the first three weeks after installation. Once grass had matured it is okay to apply herbicides after the first 3 mowings.
Water newly sodded areas everyday for the first 2 weeks. Don't allow sodded areas to dry out, it needs about 1/2 inch of water per day. A light watering or rainfall is not sufficient enough to ensure proper growth. It may cause harm to the sod. Also avoid walking on sodded areas for a period of 2 weeks.
Overseeding and slice seeding can only be performed on existing lawns. Watering is not as crucial as other types of grass installation. However, weekly watering and fertilization is vital
